How to Set Up and Use an Address Book
KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Cameras

Contents

Updated October 2005

Introduction

If your camera and computer operating system support tagging pictures for after-transfer e-mailing, the camera provides an address book. You can use this address book to set up e-mail addresses for the people to whom you want to e-mail pictures. After using Kodak EasyShare software to set up the e-mail information, you copy a set number of addresses to internal memory of the digital camera.

Note: You can add as many addresses as you want, but the camera software limits the number of addresses that you can copy to the camera.

Setting up your Address Book
  1. In My Collection, select the Email tab in the task selection pane.

  2. Click Address Book.

  3. Click New Contact on the toolbar.

    The New Contact window appears.

  4. Complete the required fields.

Note: In the E-mail address text box, type a valid e-mail address. A valid e-mail address includes a name, the @ symbol, and a domain name and suffix, for example: myname@kodak.com. In the Nickname text box, type the nickname to copy to the camera. The nickname can include up to 10 characters, including any combination of letters (A through Z), numbers (0 through 9), special characters, supported symbols, and spaces. If you do not designate a nickname, a message appears when you try to copy the address to the camera.

  5. The other fields are optional; type any desired names, addresses, and phone numbers.

  6. When you are finished, click Close.

Uploading the Address Book to the Camera
  1. Connect the camera to your computer, and turn on the camera.

  2. Start Kodak EasyShare software.

  3. In My Collection, select the E-mail tab in the task selection pane.

  4. Click Address Book.

  5. In the Include column, select the check box for each address you want to add to the camera.

A message notifies you that the checked nicknames will overwrite the current address book on the camera. If you did not select the Include check box for a nickname, a message will tell you that you must select the check box to send an e-mail address to the camera. If you selected more contacts than your camera address book can contain, another message will appear.

  6. To overwrite the addresses, click OK.

  7. To copy the addresses to the camera, click Update Camera on the toolbar.

Editing the Contact Information
  1. In My Collection, select the E-mail tab in the task selection pane.

  2. Click Address Book.

  3. In the Address Book window, double-click the contact row and then click Edit.

  4. In the Edit Contact window, make the appropriate changes. For information on specific requirements for information typed in the e-mail address and camera nickname fields, see the "Setting up your address book" section.

Important: If you do not designate a nickname, a message appears when you try to copy the address to the camera. If you change a camera nickname, you must update the address book on the camera in order for that contact to be recognized when selected on the camera. For details, see the "Setting up your Address Book" section.

  5. When you are finished, click OK.

Removing a Contact from the Address Book
  1. In My Collection, select the E-mail tab in the task selection pane.

  2. Click Address Book.

  3. Select the contact row you want to remove, and then click Remove on the toolbar.

    A confirmation message appears.

  4. Click Yes to remove the address from the book, or click No to keep the address.

Important: If you remove a contact from your address book, you should also update the address book on the camera. See the "Setting up your Address Book" section.
